Alicia Covington, LCSW

In addition, Alicia works with athletes on mental performance, helping them strengthen confidence, manage pressure, and optimize performance. Drawing from her own experience as a former Division I track and field athlete at UC Davis, she brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and lived understanding to her work with athletes.

Through a relational, strengths-based approach, Alicia helps her clients harness their unique abilities, build emotional awareness, enhance coping skills, and foster healthier interpersonal relationships.

Embracing diversity and individuality, Alicia provides affirmative therapy for LGBTQIA+ youth. She is experienced in supporting young people as they navigate challenges related to identity, including experiences of homophobia, discrimination, coming out, and building supportive peer networks.

Alicia is a licensed clinical social worker in Tennessee, Illinois, and Alabama, and is able to provide therapy services to clients across these states. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Her professional experience spans several years and includes working with clients ages 3–22 across a variety of settings. Her training at Hearts and Homes for Youth and Adventist Behavioral Health Hospital further equipped her to support youth facing chronic mental health and behavioral challenges.

Outside of her clinical work, Alicia enjoys spending quality time with family, cooking, and running. She connects with clients through shared interests in music—ranging from Billie Eilish and Beyoncé to Carrie Underwood and film soundtracks—as well as a love for storytelling through shows like Grey’s Anatomy, House, This Is Us, and The Office. She values storytelling as a powerful tool for building empathy and understanding the human experience.

With Alicia, you’re gaining more than a therapist—you’re gaining a compassionate and dedicated guide who believes deeply in your capacity for growth, healing, and resilience. You are the author of your story, and Alicia is there to support you as you move toward a healthier, more empowered version of yourself.
