Our world is full of tremendous challenges for girls and young women. Often, they could use someone to help guide them through challenges and difficult times. Meet Lauren King, PsyD, a talented psychologist committed to helping girls and young women (ages 5 to 30) triumph over challenges such as eating disorders, body image concerns, negative self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Lauren adopts a positive, optimistic approach, focusing on her clients’ strengths to instill confidence and help them achieve their objectives. When appropriate, she appreciates integrating faith discussions into therapy and building on each person’s strengths and skills.

Lauren is also skilled in offering comprehensive, personalized psychoeducational assessments. These assessments provide a clear depiction of a student’s strengths and weaknesses, and her strong recommendations can pave the way for academic success.

Lauren’s educational journey began with a BA from Samford University, leading to her Doctorate from the Fuller School of Psychology. She has a diverse professional background, including working at an outpatient clinic, a community counseling center, and a partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient center for eating disorders. She also has experience in providing in-home therapy for children on the Autism spectrum and other special needs. Her seven years of private practice experience have honed her skills and knowledge in the field.

Away from her profession, Lauren is an avid movie watcher, with favorites like the Harry Potter series and “The Princess Bride.” Music is also an essential part of her life, and she enjoys the works of musicians such as Ben Harper, Avett Brothers, Patty Griffin, Joe Purdy, and Shane & Shane.

Dr. Lauren King is a dedicated professional whose uniquely-tailored person-centric approach, combined with her expertise and compassion, makes her a valuable resource for those who want to improve their lives.

Dr. King is also approved by PsyPact to practice teletherapy in most states. PsyPact, the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact, is an agreement among participating states that allows licensed psychologists to provide tele-psychology services across state lines. This increases access to therapy for individuals who travel frequently for work, attend college in another state,  those who relocate temporarily, and others. With PsyPact, approved psychologists can offer their services in any participating state, ensuring continuity of care regardless of location. Explore the states included in PsyPact by clicking here.
