Moving through adolescence and into adulthood is no easy task. Sometimes you or your kid need a trusted ally in this journey. Meet Eli Parrot, a dedicated and experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Ph.D. in Clinical Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. Eli has a wealth of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families, guiding them as they navigate their life’s path.
Before joining Southeast Psych Nashville, she spent 12 years as a well-respected school-based therapist at a local private school, advocating for middle and high school students. She particularly enjoys working with young people who have learning differences, are on the spectrum, or find it difficult to navigate the school environment.
Eli believes that her clients are the experts of their own lives and have all the resources within them for growth and insight. Her job is to draw out those strengths and insights, then help each person use them to move forward in life.
In addition to her Ph.D., Eli holds a Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University and a B.A. in Social Work from Tennessee State University. She has been a middle and upper school counselor, ethics teacher, counselor of middle school girls at Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, and intern counseling college students at Trevecca Nazarene University. She is also a TBRI certified counselor.
When not working, Eli enjoys a variety of films and TV shows, including “Simon Birch,” “Princess Bride,” “Three Amigos,” “Raising Arizona,” “Legally Blonde,” “Clueless,” “Sixteen Candles,” “Midsomer Murders,” “Dexter,” “Law & Order,” “Say Yes to the Dress,” and “Property Brothers.”
She’s a fan of musicians like Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Duran Duran, Tom Petty, The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, and really, anything from the eighties! Her favorite books include “The Wicked Series,” “No Ordinary Time,” the “Girl with the Dragon Tattoos” series, “A Prayer for Owen Meany,” and “Eat, Pray, Love.”
If you or your teen or young adult need a wise and trusted guide for the next steps of life, Dr. Parrot is a great choice.
